Salvia lyrata 'Purple Knockout' (Lyreleaf Sage)

Salvia lyrata 'Purple Knockout' is a hardy perennial with a compact rosette of deep purple foliage and tall bloom spikes of pale blue flowers that emerge in late spring to early summer. Reaching a height and spread of 12-18 inches, this salvia thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. Also known as Lyreleaf Sage, this perennial is an attractive specimen for pollinators and makes a great substitute for Ajuga as a native groundcover.
