Origanum majorana (sweet marjoram)

$5.95

A bushy sub-shrub with aromatic foliage that typically grows in an upright mound. Cherished as an annual culinary herb and described as having sweet pine and citrus flavors. The leaves are milder with a more delicate flavor than those of perennial oregano (O. vulgare). A popular herb (fresh or dried) for seasoning soups, sauces, salads, stuffings, stews, and roasts; the dried leaves are used in potpourris. Performs well in dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Marjoram thrives in gritty, sandy loams - superior soil drainage is important. Great for herb gardens, edging, window boxes, hanging baskets, and containers. 1-2'H x 1-2'W. USDA Zones 9-10.

Please note: Our online herb selection is NOT a live inventory--sizes and prices change (i.e. plants grow). We also may be sold out. Please visit or call for current availability. This item is not suitable to order as a gift. For our floral customers we suggest sending a kitchen herb garden.
