Lychnis coronaria (Catchfly)

Clump-forming perennial with attractive, slightly furry silvery gray leaves.  Magenta flowers appear in late spring to early summer.  Prefers full sun in well-drained soil but will tolerate less ideal conditions.  Leaf clusters form mounds up to 10" tall with flower stems rising 1'-2' above leaf mound.  Self-seeds after blooming; works well as a ground cover or border.
