Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed, Milkweed)

More compact (1 to 3 feet tall, spread of 12 to 18 inches) variety of milkweed that is drought tolerant but slow to establish.  Plant in full sun.  Orange blooms appear in late spring through the summer and attract butterflies.  Foliage is an important food source for Monarch caterpillars.
