Stevia rebaudiana

Known as stevia or sweetleaf, this herb is typically grown for its leaves to use as a sweetener. It is native to warm, humid environments in South America but can be grown as an annual in less warm environments. White, tubular flowers are usually pruned for better tasting leaves. Grows best in full sun to part shade, with sandy, well-drained soil.
