Chamomile - Matricaria chamomilla (German chamomile)

$5.95

An aromatic annual commonly grown for use of its showy, daisy-like flowers in relaxing herbal teas. Blooms from June to August. Flowers should be harvested when fully open; may be used fresh or dried. Some tea drinkers prefer German chamomile in lieu of or combined with Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) because the former has a sweeter, less bitter taste than the latter. German chamomile has fern-like foliage. Prefers sun but will tolerate some shade, likes regular moisture, and needs well-drained soil. 1-2'H x .75-1'W. USDA Zones 2-8.
