Acanthus spinosus (Bear’s Breeches)

A clumping, herbaceous perennial with attractive foliage and tall, upright blooms from late spring to midsummer. The mauve, snapdragon-like flower spikes reach 3 to 4 tall. Grows in full sun to part shade and medium moisture, well-drained soil.
